Basic Website Day-1

In this tutorial I will show you how we can build a very simple 3-coloumn layout using XHTML and CSS

Day-1

Step-1

In this step we are planning our layout. Image below shows my layout structure

A typical Layout tree is shown below

| wrapper -1000px width. Flexi height

|----- Header - 1000Px width. 150Px height

|-----Main Container - 1000px width. Flexi height

       |------Left sidebar - 250Px width. flexi height

       |------Middle container - 500Px width. flexi height

       |------Right sidebar - 250Px width. flexi height

|----Footer 1000px width 50Px height

Step-2

Folder Structure:

It is good to keep all our website structure clean you can differentiate CSS  images and Javascripts by keeping them in different folders

My Folder structure is shown below.

index.html will be the file we are coding all Stylesheets related to site will be kept in 'CSS' folder,Images in 'Images' folder and other Javascripts(if any) in 'js' folder

Step-3

XHTML code

I am not implementing any Photoshop design for this website so we will just go to XHTML code now

you can get the code at You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view. in addition Day-code with Folder structure in attached to this post

Thats all for today.I will describe each and every snippet of the XHTML code above and we will add some styles along with content tomarrow

Regards

Mohan
